Aircraft Spins Wildly into Palm Fronds at Well-Known Southern California Shoreline
A helicopter hovering above a popular coastal beach suddenly commenced twirling wildly, ultimately losing altitude and crashing into a line of palm fronds as onlookers watched.
Videos shared on social media show the helicopter commencing to spiral over the beach then falling near the border of the coast, where it gets stuck among palm trees and a staircase close to the Pacific Coast highway.
Emergency Response Update
Emergency responders reported five persons were transported to a medical facility involving a pair who were in the helicopter and were “extracted safely from the crash site” subsequent to the incident on Saturday.
Three individuals on the road were hurt. Details on their condition were not immediately available.
The reason for the accident was not immediately released.
